well, according to TPB, there are 19 pages for mac games, 30 for windows and 0 for PC. :'(

True. All the rich kids in my school (most of them are) have got macs because they've heard they're better. They don't know why though.

And after these experiences, when 7 comes, I'll wipe Xubuntu from my HDD. My network connections are infuriating, I have encountered four unsatisfactory programs so far and all of them are defaults. I can see how it is though, and would use it rather than buy an OS. I'll also keep a bootable USB handy.

Naw i'm just kidding, macs are for artists like JBP said, and you're an artist. But i do know that macs suck at gaming. You can only play like WOW on macs. And a few other games, but that's where it ends and the games for windows franchise starts.

it is a pity in some ways that microsoft conquered the gaming market, bcause so many PC users that are gamers just believe that macs suck because they don't pay games, but perhaps, macs are smoother machines because of it i dunno, all i know is when I have the option of mac over windows, i take it in a heartbeat.

Game makers don't make games for linux or macs because they're small comunities compared to Windows... For example how many The Sims games or other big franchises exist on linux? Very few... How many of those exist on Windows? ALL OF THEM!

So, for Linux and Macs to become a real investiment in gaming, people need to start making games for it!

Well, it is a different OS with a different marketing group... Windows is for the masses who dont know how to code their linux into a doom machine and dont really care about mac's special features and gamers who want to play games and dont want to pay 20,000 KR for a laptop that would cost 12,000 if it didnt have a small apple logo on the lid. Apple is for the artists who want to make and edit images, videos etc. Linux is for those who have experience with computers.

true, each to it's own market, except that here macs and windows cost about the same, only difference is mac doesn't make the dollarama version of a computer and windows does

Although people are even more trying to make Linux easier to use... you have Linspire, Lindows and even Ubuntu and Linux Mint trying to do that... OpenSUSE is the easiest to use but it's also the biggest (1 full DVD, so)...
t's always the question that Windows Shell is the GUI while the GUI in Linux is simply a reflex of the command prompt...

But if you let you PC fall from an height of 1 meter, you must say goodbye to it, unless you're really lucky... If your mac fall from the same table, only if you have the worst of luck in the whole world yoo would win a scratch...

And that is worth 3000 kr? And besides, mine fell from a table and survived without any problems.

i did say here, not in sweden, i don't really care how much it costs in sweden. i just know here that he macs (if you equal power) are pretty much the same price as a windows PC, and the mac is more stable and is my preferred choice

well, there's one big pro about the macbook pros: solid single-piece alu housing. virtually indestructable. besides that, a 9 year old macbook still is worth 50% of the buying price. a normal 'top or 'book will lose that much value in a year. if it survives that long.

Well I wouldn't plan on trying to sell a laptop/PC second hand.

NoPE... You can't put a Mac OS on a regular pc, but you can put a Linux distro in any computer... why do you think they use it on 95% of the SuperComputers in the World?

you can put windows on a mac, actually. but who on earth would want THAT!? and somebody nalso once told me you can actually smash mac OSX on a IBM too...

Those are only rumours... But indeed, they can't run the machines were they make the karnels on Windows, so... Probably they use a Linux distro for it... As for other details I think they used Vista until a while ago (where they all upgraded to 7)...

I imagine MS HQ has the highest concentration of BSODs in the world... Not CERN will cause the black hole which will eat the earth, the MS HQ will.
