Well... I'm gonna, in the next months, try to build an LFS System for AISE (IAES - Informatic Apps and Exploration Systems), so that I can run a small Grafical Server in a very low power pc...

Here is the link with the book I'm using:

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/downloads/stable/LFS-BOOK-6.5.pdf

There are many other modules that are not included in this pdf, but those are far more advanced stages... This module is just for creating a bootable OS...

Well... My computer is a juggernaut of a computer with 750 W, some really heavy equipment and it's enchanted with the soul of mehrunes dagon, the prince of destruction who rules a plain of oblivion and is the cause of all mortal suffering, death and natural catastrophes... So.. I dont think i'm going to be using it alot.
Good luck though, it's an ambitious project. And if it's not too technical for me, i might at least try it.

LOL, good description... and if you're gonna try it, I suggest you do it on a Linux only pc and other partition or in a flashdrive, or you should see your Windows partition and GRUB screwed up...

Have fun! LOL

Why don't you think about learning C++, and writing applications?

Note: If you don't already know another language, I don't suggest you start with C++.

I known QBasic... but I'm gonna learn Visual Basic and some net languages still this year, andif we're lucky we should have C and related next year (our teacher is pretty confident that we're gonna surpass the class before our 12th year...).

Cool. Though I do hate VB. LOL

I suggest learning Python over the summer. (Python is easy as pie)

And then after that, learn Java, or something. (A step up. A bit more complex.)

THEN, learn C. And after you learn C, you shouldn't have to hard of a time learning C ++. Well, at least that's what I've heard. I've never dabbled in C++ too much because it's so freaking complex. I just usually stick with python or pearl.

Really though, once you learn a language inside out, it's not hard to learn another one.

Once you understand the syntax, you can jump into things pretty easily. With some work, of course.

Well... I already have VB installed in my PC, and the now 11th class has learned Java last year as a Web language, so...

And I already have some basis in Python, like creating variables, adding variables, ID variables, and so on...

On Perl... I might give it a look!

Update about my work on the LFS: I think I'm gonna need to use and virtual enviroment on my desktop, cause, my laptop OSes got innacessible this Sunday due to an error in GRUB (I hate working with partitions after OSes are instaled)...

I'm also creating a topic on the personal projects part about this...
