There goes SAAB...

SAAB (a pretty important piece of swedish history and economy) was laid down today. Thousands of jobs have been lost,the economies of at least 2 municipalitites have been pretty much devastated and the government probably just got a big dip in their approval rating for not being able to slow down or stop this catastrophy.This is all thanks to GM and it's leadership, who has been getting fat and stupid (and also very very rich)while completely ignoring their company. This, people, is what's wrong with all out capitalism.


I'm hoping the people who lost their job will be able to get help somehow, or thousands of families are looking at a pretty crappy xmas. And hopefully SAAB will be restarted or replaced by another company, or we're quite screwed.

Update: The numbers are in, about 3500 people have lost their jobs at saab and at least as many have lost their jobs at related companies.

Another car company lost...wonderful. Just wonderful. GM should get off their butts and actually do something.

Yes, and all thanks to the jackasses over in the US. If they hadnt been too busy eating all those apple pies and then swimming it off in their gigantic mountains of money to actually see what's going on with saab, it would still be there today, and 7000 people would have an income that provides them with more than food, water and electricity.

Cue pan-european EU!

Did you even read the articles? The Dutch would-be buyer is Dutch.

You also managed to forget the German car companies, BMW, Mecedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Opel... Not to mention Seat, which is Spanish. Then there's Skoda, Aston martin, Bentley, jaguar, Land Rover, McLaren, aaand then I probably missed some more.

Renault, Peugeot, Citroen (French), Fiat, Alpha Romeo, and Lancia (Italy), and I don't remember much more...

Well, those were the French and Italian ones, so i thought it quite redundant to mention those...
