Part 1: The Never-ending Night

Jacob mentally sent a message while preparing for self destruction.

"You seriously think I would give you back this ship in one piece after what you did to me? As far as I care I would happily send this ship colliding into my own ship while self destructing. Even my ship's shield can't with hold that! That is why I'm precisly doing just that. Revenge and Rampancy is a dish best served cold!"

Sadow paced the around the room, waiting to hear how the human was doing.

"Sir, can I ask you to stop? Your making me nervous. He seems to be okay, but the humans experimented on him, so I don't really know what's going on inside his head. Never dealt with human physiology before. This is all new to me, but I've done all I can, and I got to study his kind a bit more. So, this is a learning experience for all of us."

"Alright, when will he be ready to talk? I'm anxious to figure out why they fired upon us. They should have known they couldn't take us down.." Sadow sighed. He didn't know how he was going to explain this all to the High Queen... He looked up, speech already in mind.

@Reaper: Wait! Aren't you using our ship and we using your ship?"

Devon awoke. He was staring up at a bright light.

"Where am I? What's happening? What am I hearing?"

@JP: No, you're using emmy's ship...aren't you? You said prisoners and only room for 15 people. My ship is a stealth frigate how could you carry that along with you. plus I was the only person on my ship as I'm able to command it by myself, aswell as I have my own history....

crap...now that I read your post better, I understand.

"You know, for activating self destruct, you would need three codes... You have two here, and one there... Which btw is the dead marine commander..." Said I, muting the comms afterwards... "Destroy the bridge..."

A pulse beam was fired and hitting the bridge... the decompression sent the hijacker and the other human bodies into outer space...

"He's still alive right?"

"Yes, he is..."

"Dock with the ship and set course to the battle site..." Said I "I wanna retrieve the other crew members..."

"Calm down, calm down.. Your alright. We don't know exactly what your hearing, but we may shed some light on why you may be hearing whatever it is you may be hear. First, can we get to introductions? I'm Prince Sadow. My race is called the Aerelians." Sadow explained, hoping the human understood his faulty English. He didn't have enough time to learn the language to the extent he needed too, but hoping that the human understood this, he could give him a universal translator.

Well this is effing great...I'm in space with no rescue in sight, my ships been hijacked....wait my own ships self-destruct code!!! Lets see, is the probe still functioning? No..wait! The third probe, I've been hoping for a cause to use it! Let's see here...Ah there we go the RGS Serinity is now fully disabled and will float in space without my authorisation! Heh...well that'll give me and them some time to mull our situations over.

Symphona was curing internally at the whole situation. Stupid morons were playing around with equipment which went way above their head. It was time to... 'Interfere.'

Suddenly a large ship appeared out of nowhere. Even though the ship was fairly small for it's class considering other alien designs, because of the Werecats' smaller physiology it had more space to pack tech, heat and drive. Symphona immediately hailed the arriving ship.
"Okay captain, it's time to act before this whole situation sinks even deeper into the dunghole we're already in. I can wait for now, just round up the rest of the pods and then 'persuade' the other ship to cease fire. Next ship that ain't ours that does so much as charging their weapons will be scattered into tiny ions all over this system. If anyone or anything fails to cooperate, make them."

The Oneiroi moved towards the remaining pods and started pulling them all into her locking bay. While doing this the ship sent a message to the humans on both the pods and the other ship to cooperate. Resistance would not be tolerated.

Devon looked at Prince Sadow

"Prince, not the heir though, you had two brothers before you, both of which died which leaves you the sole remaining member of the family. My name is Devon"

Sadow looked at Devon almost in fear. Devon had spoken the alien language - fluently.

Sadow shook his head, and stood there. "H-How would you know that? Only members of the royal family would know such a thing. I'll be heir though, after this mission is completed.. Do you know anything else?" He sat down, switching to his language now.

"I don't know, it just came to me, like you told me except in your own language, i.....something's coming, something new, not human, not yours, deceptive, chameleon, shape shifters, where the hell is this coming from?!?!"

"I don't know Devon, but it probably has to do with what your human companions did to you. I can't figure out what, but whatever it is, it's causing you to be able to understand any language encountered and start speaking some very random things. But to be on the safe side, you might want to write them down. We are heading to my home world... do you have any problem with that?" Sadow asked, still a little bit shocked.

"I was never one for sitting still too long. Take me to your leader"

Devon looked to the table next to him and suddenly everything flew off of it.

"That wasn't me was it?" Devon asked shocked. Devon looked at a counter on the opposite wall and some science gear smashed. Devon looked back at Sadow.

"What did they do to me?!"

Well the distress beacon has been on for how long? Can't tell but....I'm hoping somebody will pick me up in the near century...well I could shut myself down until in proximity to a living being but I'm beginning to love the sights. I'm still hoping somebody will come and pick me up...

The Zeraila followed the distress signal, wondering where it led. It found the crippled vessel and took the injured alien to the medical bay. Sadow took Devon to the bridge, and pointed to the empty seat.

"We were lucky the distress beacon was in our path to our planet. If not, we would have ignored it. We will be there within a few days, I hope you can get aquainted with the crew. Some are a bit on the edge, not sure of what you will do. This is Zera, my first officer." He pointed to the female, and she nodded in response.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." was all Zera said before she went back to her terminal, mapping the quickest route home.

Sitting from the chair, Devon closed his eyes

"That path isn't the shortest"

The first officer gave Devon a weird look.

"Yes, I speak your language it seems, but that path. Change your speed vs gravity ratio by point 5 percent in the negative, you'll cut around the star epsilon 9 and shave a day off of your transit time"

The first officer looked to her console and put in the adjustments. She looked up shocked at Sadow

"He's right" she stated

The ship of the line locked it's weapons on the remaining pod. The other humans already had been detained on the ship in the small rooms with low ceilings. Symphona was already sitting in the bridge.

"Not cooperating?"
"So it seems"
"Warning shot at mark."

...

"Mark."

The Oneiroi fired a warning shot right past the pod. Symphona tilted her head, waiting for a response.

"Sensors just picked up weapons fire in the area." Zera stated, finished with the course and the ship was in warm.
"Location? Origin? Direction?" Sadow asked simply, hoping to get home.
"A few Klauster miles behind us. Apparently one the ships commisioned by the Werecats. Direction, apparently at a small vessel of human origin. It would take 6 hours to get there."
"Then forget about it, take us home."

Sadow sighed. What was next?

"Werecats? Shape shifters! I was right! How could I have been right?" Devon muttered to himself.

The Zeraila finally entered Aerelian space, the crew breathing a sigh of relief. The planet was swarmed by Aerelian cruisers, as the government had thought to build their own ships now, and they finally had a fleet again. The last fleet was disbanded due to it looked more like an invasion force.

"Welcome to the home of the Aerelians, Devon, the planet Aerelis. We will have accomodations for you when we reach the palace. The High Queen will want to speek with you." Sadow explained as the docked on the planet, and two fighers flew into the sky. "The military force is just for a defensive purpose at this moment in time."

As Jacob was walking through the ship after being released from the medbay he looked for the bridge. He found it.

"How long till landing on the planet? Also can you guide me to the nearest shipyard, because with the loss of my ship I'm pretty much stranded...I think I have enough credits in my account to buy at least a small well armed patrol craft..."

Sadow looked at the alien, and nodded. "I'll have Commander Reliz escort you to the shipyard. The closet one is here at the dock. We may have a assault craft for sale for you."
Commander Reliz walked up and nodded towards Jacob. "Come with me."



Sadow and Zera lead Devon towards the palace grounds, the blue sun making the the castle grounds glow. The gardens on the path towards the front door held many exotic and native flowers, and a rose bush stood near the entrance, the petals blue because of the nearby sun.

They were already inside the Ship, taking the course back to the place were the evacuated crew were, being chased by some alien...

"Thank god we have this remote control protocol... And this Battle Bridge!" Said I... "How many hours?"

"1 hour..." Said the XO... "Luckly this ship is still in state of flying..."

"We're expecting an hostile ship in the area, can we stand at least enough time to rescue everyone?" Asked I

"I dont know sir... This ship is pretty damaged... I'm wondering what is keeping this ship in one piece... most of the main structure is destroyed..."

"That's a good or a bad thing?"

"I don't know, sir..."

"Ok, carry on..."
