Post by SilverShadows Fri Nov 27, 2009 8:56 pm

well i recently got a netbook running linpus lite which is basically a form of linux, any how all of a sudden it wont load up properly and only shows a black screen with the mouse. does anyone know what could be wrong and what i need to do to fix it, as id rather not send it into acer for repair

bulldung. when you do nothing, nothing happens. when it starts the second time you use the system, it starts the third time around too,

UNLESS you changed something.

well i looked it up and it seems likequite a common problem so im probably gonna have to get rebooted the real problem is that there is no cd drive otherwise i would have simply installed windows xp and forgot about it

now installing windows XP would be a REAL mistake.

...and not just because a netbook just ain't powerful enough to run XP.

oh, forget it. if you can start anything else besides wordpad i'd be surprised.

no, seriously, you did something. installed a program, dropped it off a clif, played football with it, changed some hardware, fried it, went in bath with it...

If you used Vista it would be normal to not be able to open anything on it... I would recomend to get (by any means) or Windows 7 Basic (The Version for netbooks) or another Linux version for netbooks... I would recomend Ubuntu Netbook Remix:

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-netbook

And follow the link explaining how to create a bootable flash drive, at the same time you download it...

But with fetting Windows 7 Basic free I can't help you because of two things: It's illegal and DW...

Linpus? Isn't that kinda low core?

Bleh, oh well.

I'd rather use another lite distro.

If you want my suggestions, please ask. But if you're satisfied with what you've got, that's cool too.

So wait, was your issue resolved?

Wait... A 16 GB RAM stick? When did that happen?! What planet am i on? What year is it? Have they invented the battlestars yet? am i on the 12 colonies or the 13th colony? Is the USS Enterprise in the sea or in space?
